About Kalen
My love of food comes from my dad, who was the cook in our family. “What are you making for dinner?” is always a topic of conversation, even to this day. Whether it is my dad, sister, or my brother with Downs Syndrome, we share our love of cooking even across the miles. Ingredients for meals and possible combinations pop into my head all the time. It puts a big smile on my face when a new recipe awaits my hands at home. Though I’ve experienced hardships in my life, they have led me to my love of life and the journey that made me who I am today. My hope is to bring you a little wisdom for your day, week or life. I cherish sharing wisdom, and offering hope when someone is struggling. This is a place to gather where nourishing food and inspiration will be served and celebrated together. |
My Family
|
My boyfriend Stephen and “Lady” (our little doxie) and Miss Duchess (our little mutt) I live under the same roof. Stephen, a big supporter of my cooking, is always a good sport, willing to try a new kale dish or pretty much anything, even if it is not his favorite. When I cook, little Lady will sit on the rug by the sink or outside near our table, patiently waiting for a morsel to drop. These three help me enjoy every meal!
